1960 ~ Nena the German singer-songwriter from the band Nena was born Gabriele Susanne Kerner in Hagen, West Germany on the 24th March 1960. Nena rose to international fame in 1983 with the New German Wave song 99 Luftballons. In 1984 Nena re-recorded the song in English as 99 Red Balloons.
