1874 GUGLiELMO MARCONi the Italian inventor, best known as the father of long distance radio transmission was born on this 25th day of April in 1874 (died in 1937 aged 63). Guglielmo Marconi developed Marconi’s law and the radio telegraph system, and was a recipient of the Nobel Prize in Physics.

1915 ~ The BATTLE Of GALLiPOLi began on the 25th April 1915, when the invasion of the Turkish Gallipoli Peninsula by Australian, British, French and New Zealand troops when landing at Anzac Cove and Cape Helles.

1916 ANZAC DAY (Australian & New Zealand Army Corps Day) was commemorated for the 1st time in 1916, for the first anniversary of the landing at Anzac Cove in 1915. Anzac Day is a national day of remembrance in Australia and New Zealand, to commemorate by both countries who fought at Gallipoli in the Ottoman Empire during World War I. Today Anzac day commemorates all those who served and died in military operations for their countries.
