1964 ~ The Beatles arrived in Australia for the first time on the morning of the 11th June 1964. The Beatles flew to Australia from Hong Kong to Sydney, with a stop at 2.35am en route in Darwin for their aeroplane to refuel. A crowd of about 2,000 fans greeted The Beatles at Sydney’s Mascot International Airport on the cold and rainy winter morning.
