1947 – The H-4 Hercules also known as the Spruce Goose was flown by Howard Hughes on its maiden (and only) flight on the 2nd November 1947, in California. 2003 ~ Cliff Young the Australian potato farmer and athlete from Beech Forest, Victoria died at the age of 81 on the 2nd November 2003 (born 1922).
