Psy’s new YouTube Gentleman video received 38,409,306 views within it’s first 24 hours on the 14th April 2013, and at time time of writing this page 19 days later, has been viewed more than 271 million times (actual total = 271,680,153).
Gentleman is the follow up single to Psy‘s World record breaking Gangnam Style song that was the 1st in the World to have 1 billion views on YouTube when released on the 12th April 2013. The first public performance of Psy’s new Gentleman song, with an associated dance, was unveiled at Seoul World Cup Stadium in Seoul on the 13th April 2013.
As of the 1st May 2013, the Gentleman video has been viewed more than 265 million times on YouTube, setting a few more YouTube World records and another Guinness World Record for Psy, including the most views in its first 24 hours, most views in any 24 hours, the fastest music video to reach 100 million views, and fastest video to reach 200 million views. The main lyric line of the song is often mistaken for “I’m a mother f**ker gentleman”, but is actually “I’m a mother father gentleman”.
