1519 ~ LEONARDO da ViNCi the Italian Renaissance polymath considered to be the most diversely talented person to ever live, and one of the greatest painters of all time, died on the 2nd day of May in 1519 aged 67. Leonardo was a great example of a polymath, he was a successful architect, painter, writer, cartographer, sculptor, inventor, musician, anatomist, geologist, botanist, scientist, mathematician and engineer. His genius was considered superhuman.

5 years prior to the introduction of the world’s 1st stamps in Great Britain, an Austrian civil servant named Lovrenc Koširhesaid to be the inventor of the postage stamp, suggested the introduction of adhesive tax postmarks (aufklebbare Brieftaxstempel) to the Department of Commerce in Vienna, which was responsible for the postal system. These postmarks were to be used for the pre-payment of postage. He called them gepresste Papieroblate (pressed paper wafers), which are known today as stamps. His suggestion was looked at in detail, but rejected for the time being.

2011 ~ The WEDDiNG of PRiNCE WiLLiAM & KATE MiDDLETON took place at 11:00 am on the 29th day of April in 2011 at Westminster Abbey in London. The royal wedding was watched by 1 million people along the route between Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace. The ceremony was also viewed live by tens of millions more around the world, including 72 million on the YouTube Royal Channel, and 36.7 million on television in United Kingdom. This wedding day only cost about £20 million.
