Virgin Galactic is a division within Richard Branson‘s Virgin Group of companies. Virgin Galactic plans to provide suborbital spaceflights for space tourists, suborbital launches for space science missions, and small satellite orbital launches. In the near future Virgin Galactic will be able to also offer orbital human spaceflights. Virgin Galactic’s spacecraft is launched from a large aeroplane, which givews the spacecraft more initial speed and altitude than from a ground launch.
