1888 – Squizzy Taylor the Australian gangster was born on the 29th June 1888 (died 1927).

1900 – Antoine de Saint-Exupéry the French writer was born on the 29th June 1900 (died 1944). Antoine de Saint-Exupéry was best known his novella The Little Prince (Le Petit Prince) and also for writing Wind, Sand and Stars and Night Flight.

1953 – Colin Hay the Scottish-Australian singer and guitarist from Men at Work was born on the 29th June 1953.

1957 – Robert Forster the Australian singer-songwriter and guitarist from The Go-Betweens was born on the 29th June 1957.

1976 – The Seychelles became independent from the United Kingdom on the 29th June 1976.
