OCTOBER 30 ~ ON THiS DAY in History

1938 – Orson Welles broadcasted his radio play of H. G. Wells‘s The War of the Worlds on the 30th October 1938, causing anxiety in some of the audience in the United States.

1944 – Anne Frank and her sister Margot Frank were deported from Auschwitz to the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp on the 30th October 1944.

1974 – The Texas Chain Saw Massacre made its Hollywood debut on the 30th October 1974.

1985 – Space Shuttle Challenger lifted off for mission STS-61-A on the 30th October 1985, its final successful mission.
