International Firefighters’ Day is observed on the 4th May. The day was instituted after a proposal was emailed out across the world on the 4th January 1999 due to the deaths of 5 firefighters in tragic circumstances in a wildfire at Linton in Victoria, Australia. Read more about it all here.

You can HELP KiDS with burns by purchasing the Firefighters Calendar, which raises money for the Burns Centre at The Chidren’s Hospital at Westmead Hospital, providing vital funding for research to help children battling burn injuries. Your support also assists Australian firefighters aka firies to compete in the emergency services competitions such as the World Firefighters Games, which promotes fitness among the firefighting profession.
