1984 ~ ANSEL ADAMS the American photographer and environmentalist died on this 22nd day of April in 1984 aged 82. Ansel was best known for his black & white photographs of the American West, especially in Yosemite National Park. Ansel Adams with Fred Archer developed the Zone System, to help determine proper exposure and adjust the contrast for clarity and depth of the final print. Ansel’s photographs were widely distributed on calendars, posters and books.

1993 ~ MOSAiC WEB BROWSER Version 1.0 was released on this 22nd day of April in 1993. Mosaic was the web browser that was credited with popularizing the World Wide Web, making it the application that opened up the Web to the general public. Mosaic was also the 1st browser to display images inline with text, instead of displaying images in a separate window. Today most of the popular contemporary browsers, Internet Explorer,  Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox retain many of the characteristics of the original Mosaic graphical user interface and interactive experience.
